If you opt for any firearm, be sure it's legal to have with you outside of hunting season. If you took one in Northern Ontario, you'd end up being charged with hunting out of season and without a licence. Don't know about Saskatchewan.

Is this true? How can the Ontario government charge people for crimes they aren't committing? WTF is it with charging people for thought-crimes in Ontario!?!???

In Alberta I can take a firearm into the foothills any time of year for personal safety.

Has anybody studied bear psychology?

Is it possible to run at a charging bear, thus confusing it, and resulting in the bear's cowardly retreat?

What about counseling, maybe the charging bear is having anger management issues because his wife left him? Maybe talking to the bear, and explaining that things will "work out" will stop him from devouring you.

I honestly don't think that violence is the answer. The bear would probably attack in self defense, simply because you are carrying a gun.

Oh, almost forgot......:jerkit:

Cheers,
Sand

This is ridiculous, how many times has this been brought up this week. Neither will work if you have ever watched Predator get yourself ''old painless'' then you might have a chance:rolleyes:
