Bear rug, illegal to sell?

bear rug should be totally legal, if its polar bear would bring up further issues mainly selling outside of Canada, might be more rules depending on province, but since already made into a rug shouldn't really be any issues

So the value of one already made. This one is good condition. Done right it looks with felt and everything. About 5 feet long.

Heres someones little blog about selling a deer head on kijiji and its from Ontario.

look at the regulations for this but as per the last time i looked it is illegal to sell any mounts of any kind . I may be incorrect but thats what i read

May well be different from province to province, but I believe it is allowed in BC, provided all the original tags and paperwork stays with the hide.

I think you need a trappers license in ontario to posess pelts from game animals after their respective seasons close. AFAIK, the pelts cannot technically be "sold". However they can be "gifted" only to those who are licensed to posess the pelts after a closed season.

There must be some type of permit process in Ontario........Bass Pro has a ton of them in their store in Vaughan, Ontario. That or it's OK to buy them out of province and bring them in. I had no idea it was illegal to buy a mount. I recall a bear named "Hugo" for sale on the EE that I was tempted to buy.

It is ilegal to deal in game parts and there are specific clauses that apply to bears... But this only applies to the intrinsic value of the animal, not the cost of taxidermy work invested in a game head or rug... So the rug CAN be sold, but ONLY for the price of the taxidermy Work invested in it.
