Bear rug, illegal to sell?

It is ilegal to deal in game parts and there are specific clauses that apply to bears... But this only applies to the intrinsic value of the animal, not the cost of taxidermy work invested in a game head or rug... So the rug CAN be sold, but ONLY for the price of the taxidermy Work invested in it.

Winner , Winner , Chicken Dinner...we ll at least that was what I found out after doing some reading via Google.
One is supposed to have in their possesion the lic. and tags that the animal was harvested under as well.
I have about 5 birds and one bear head mount and a Bob Cat on my walls and have tags in a drawer someplace.
If a CO ever got curious I have some paper work to keep him/her occupied for a few hours at least.
Back to the OP, what is it you are interested in? You mentioned in post #5 and #8 that you have seen them on kijji?
Personally, I would shy away from one found there for obvious reasons. (legally harvested , well preserved after being harvested, etc...)
Contact a local Taxidermist or three and see if they can direct you to a Legal and Reliable source.
Trappers will have to submit Royalties to the Crown (read taxes) .
There I just added another reason to buying from an authorized source, the Guberment wants their monies too.

Boy, this sparked a memory.
Way back in days of yore, our Wildlife Park had a display of a bunch of mounts that
were loaned for the occasion.
The lad's in blue were out there and I do believe the one's without paper work were seized.
This let out an up roar by the public.
I forget how it all ended, but I did learn one thing.
Drill the back board of the head mount and roll the paper work up and stuff it in there.
