Bear

Got a huge sow and 2 wankers hanging around a farm I hunt. They have been out for a few weeks now. They took out a large amount of corn and grain last year and won't present themselves during the season for a hot lead injection.

Was talking to some people last weekend who saw a bear on the east side of stave Lake, which is odd because so many people are shooting there it's like a war zone.

Yes they are Oooooot & Abooooot EH!!!!!'

Seen a black bear near my wood patch on Thursday. Infact I was stupid and walked over to the wood pile and realized it was a perfect hibernation location, unarmed, without my saw TuT TuT TuT

Nice pics 'Dogleg' I always insist that bears are like dogs, just scratch the belly and watch a a leg flap.

I have seen a few (maybe 5-8) here in town, but the last one was 2 weeks ago. One of them was positively gigantic - probably in my top 5 biggest black bears I have ever seen. I expected to see lots now making the trip through town from winter to summer home, but haven't seen any the last two weeks. Don't know why.

I have seen quite a few coyotes in town the last couple of weeks, as well as two cats (bobcats? lynx? - it was dark and I don't know enough to distinguish the smaller cats - definitely not mountain lions). I can't imagine that either the coyotes or the cats would chase away the bears, so I don't know why they are hiding right now.

I kinda miss them. I really enjoy seeing the little ones waddling around, sniffing and licking and pawing at everything they find, until their exasperated mamas grab them and drag them forward. Happy and innocent, in my mind. Maybe they are all just late this year?

Have you tried scratching behind their ears? They like that; especially the sows with cubs.:d
