Man I saw 2 gorgeous bears tonight! 
I went for a 2 km hike on a logging road and couldn't find any bear sign at all. A lot of wolf sign...
After a bit I stopped and I cut three small poplars; gonna try to make shooting sticks outa them. Since there was zero bear sign I figured I might as well head back to the truck and drive the roads.
I barely got started and a beautiful cinnamon bear came out across the road. it was every bit of 6'. Very similar to the bear I shot 3 years ago. I did not consider shooting it, but it was for a sure a shooter for anybody that has not taken a colored bear.
No sooner did I leave there, then I crossed over a hill, maybe half a km away and saw a big black bear feeding along the roadside. And I'm telling ya', it was a damn big bear! 6-1/2' for sure and maybe bigger. It had a dark red-brown muzzle, which looked pretty neat. The head reminds me of some of the bears in Shockey's videos...
I only wish the wind had been better. In both situations I was driving towards these bears with the wind right at my back, so both bears quickly sensed the vehicle. Too bad I could not have more time to look them over. I really think I might have been trying to shoot that second guy if I'd had much better look at it.
So in a matter of minutes I saw 2 bears that were better then anything I saw all of last year.
