I believe that the best "beater gun/rifle is the old Win M70 Winlites made in the late 80's. They have the McMillan stocks that are indestructible and are very accurate and well made. Mine has survived many road trips and was stolen by some Indians, tossed in a truck bed, survived RCMP confinement, Took a float down a swolen River in NWT and is still in good shape

That is a perfect example of what I had in mind. Very nice. What is it chambered for?

:stirthepot2:A 30-06 Improved Oh I mean 270:stirthepot2:

I have a bl 4000 scope on it and have changed zero exactly 3 times since 1997, That was to change loads

Its too bad that we do not have a rifle such as this in production now, without a injection molded tupperware stock.

I have never had a failure to feed with the unit and its plain deadly out to whatever range I need.

The first time I had the pleasure of dealing with Supercub was to buy that exact same rifle from him, for a friend. This was well before CGN existed. Great rifles...
