Hey fellas, cant help myself, swear to stop going up into the bush at any givin chance an simply looking for deer....... not sure its that good for the future but seems to be good for the soul...
with the Fallow starting to harden up in the later stages of Velvet prior to the oncoming Rut , with some Covid restrictions in place in the City it keeps the tourists down and the deer were a little quiter and spread out back in their areas... With that i took the op to get out an into a few places for a look see and see just what was about ..
im hunting around a traditional Rutting area, so quite often just does most of the year seen, an the bucks seldom seen in velvet. however this year with things alot quiter the deer must of thought it was a good place to hang out.
from long range , an no good photos , i got to see around 7 bucks in a bachelor mob, in late stage velvet but mostly younger bucks with one looking worthy of a second look but proberly a NBNY.
in the mean time i took some photos of some Does and took one for the freezer, she was a very dark model , whch is common around here now as the "big black buck" has obviously been getting around quite a few over time, with more an more dark bucks more an more dark offspring!
which makes it harder to spot for the average punted, no great big deal but may slowly loose out that real typical Fallow "bambi" look thats seen below.
