I chacked out the serial number (56C###X) which I believe places her at 1943
However there is no date stamped any where on the rifle
The original birch stock and 300/600 peep are brand new and in safe keeping.
I thought she was 1945 but it looks like I was mistaken.
Tough to decide. Which one would I like to own? The M-14, I think. But, I voted for the Enfield as the "beauty".
That M-14 is very cool but not the looker the Enfield is, even with that lovely walnut stock. Parkerized metal is plain ugly, imo.

One of the Lee Enfield forums I often frequent puts the 56C run at 1943. It's not unusual to see Savage rifles missing date stamps. Mine, 73C0###, and many others listed on this particular forum, do not have a date marked.
