beaver tail

so I am building a 9mm 1911 and I need some help.
I have all the nessary parts and bits.
I am looking for a list of tools, supplies I will need to fit and blend a
beavertail safety. Can I get it mostly at can tire?
any help appreciated.
looking for info on what grit paper what kind of files to use and when.
(that sort of stuff)

Brownells have jigs for cutting beavertails.
