Beavertail Interchangeability

Hi all
I would like to know if a drop in beavertail made for the fullsize 1911 would fit on the Commander??

yes. the only difference between the Commander and full size govt is the slide, barrel and dust cover. Bushing, recoil spring too I guess. Guide plug? Okay but that's IT.
The safety is the same.

The length of the front of the COMMANDER FRAME is shorter ( called the dust cover). This causes a gap if you put a GOVERNMENT SLIDE on a COMMANDER FRAME. An extended reverse recoil spring plug can solve or fill the gap problem though.

The frame is the same, but beware the term "drop-in"... :wink:
