Is there anywhere that I can get my hands on a 700 bedding block or better yet a full length block? What are the odds that the guys that incorporate full length blocks (McMillian, HS, Choate even, etc) would sell something like this?

I'd prefer to go through the pains of getting a full length block almost to hte point of buying a stock and fleshing it out to do it. I'd rather not yet..

Any ideas?

I might know where there's one for a 700. Give me a couple days to make some calls.
If you go to the ads on Benchrest Central you should be able to find one. Also check out Lester Bruno in Phoenix.

It's one that I got a few years ago then swapped with a guy, as far as I know it never got used then he passed away. I have to get in touch with his widow. It is a right bolt/right port. Is that what you're looking for?

Yes, is it possible to get a picture of it?

I'm actually looking for something to build a stock for a buddy and figured building it off a full length block might be a place to start. He's got a fairly specific list of attributes he wants.

If it's available she should be able to get you a pic. When you say full length do you mean the length of the action or the length from the rear of the action to the front of the stock?

Rear of action to front of stock. Worst case I can do it with just a action-length block.. but I think if I have only that option, I'm better off making my own. I'm looking full length just to save on some of the engineering.

So you're basically talking a rail gun design but hand held. I'm glad I'm not paying that machining bill. I'm assuming you've looked at some of the stuff on 6mmbr. Bat machine has a pic of a full length aluminum stock for 1000 yd that must have cost a fortune. I guess that would be a good excuse to buy a CNC machine.
