Bedding compound question

Ian, when you say it sticks to different stock materials except Tupperware. Do you mean that marine tex won't stick to a hogue stock, or did you mean it literally?
 
JB weld works good anywhere you can block and fill everywhere it can run. Rifles like the M1/M14/Mini14 are a little more difficult to bed with JB. Bolt actions are great for JB. Use plumbers putty to fill all the voids, paste wax makes a great release agent. 2 years later my Howa is still tight and requires a little force to remove from the stock. So all the talk of shrinkage means very little to me. Just my experiences.
 
Many of the factory stocks are polyethylene or there abouts and nothing will stick to them, same for nylon and reinforced nylon. The best hole filler is plasticine because it never dries out.
 
Here is a release agent that I have not heard of anyone using yet, "tip grease." It is a thin grease used by loggers to help lubricate the nose sprockets on the bar of a chainsaw.

I just used it yesterday on a bedding job I did using JB weld. Worked like a charm. Very little effort was needed to separate the action from the stock.

I posted this as an additional option for someone who may be looking for an alternate.
