ok well i have sanded and prepped the stock for bedding waxed the action and barrel. now the hard part what CHEAP alternative can i use as a bedding compound thinking JB weld But i would need to buy that Where as i have a pint of fiberglass body filler already in my basment from previous jeep related issues. would this work or should i just buy the JB weld?

Some have used straight resin as you suggest. personally I would think it to brittle. If I was goin to use it I would make sure I'd removed enough stock material that it wouldnt be in there paper thin....
JB Weld is available at Home Hardware for ~ 7 large, or you can get a pound of Devcon Aluminum for about 50$ at General Bearing Service on Gladstone (or nearby) If you can buddy up with someone , the latter route offers the best economy - you'll have enough to do more than 10 rifles.

Did you make sure to put a lot of wax on the action screws, mag box, inside the screw holes on the action, tape the sides of the stock, remove the trigger group or cover it up with tape, fill up any "traps" on the action with putty?
i would't be using body filler as its designed to be flexable. its for cosmetic filling not structual strenth. body filler will absorb water or oil if not painted over or otherwise sealed. stick to one of the bedding products, a few $ saved isn't worth it.
well i sprung for the JB Weld and did the bedding job waxed the crap out of All the parts removed the trigger and sear assembly applied the jb weld and let it set up for 6 hours resting on its own weight only *did not installed action screws* once set i pulled everything apart to remove dams and tape and it all poped out nicely. so hopfully i did it right we shall see the next trip to the range i guess i should let it cure for a few days anyway LOL
