Beginers Luck?? Shot my first 25 Straight!!

To be honest, as soon as I posted this thread, I felt bad for 2 reasons.
1. I felt like I was bragging (which I was), and
2. I know that some have tried much longer than I have to reach that goal, and here I was gloating about it.

A great bunch of people here on CGN, and let's face it, it is nice to share your experiences with someone who can relate. Unlike my wonderful wife who was happy for me, but didn't really have a clue as to what the big deal was about.:p:D

Regards,

James

Don't feel bad. There is nothing wrong with sharing goals that you've been striving to accomplish. Particularly with those who understand.

True story:

I brought my girlfriend to a registered skeet shoot, and proceeded to finish the first day 200x200. I expected to get an 'attaboy' or some congratulatory words from her. When I gave her a hard time for not, she replied, "Well, isn't that what you are supposed to do?"

Ya gotta Love a Womans "logic". :)

Clearly a superior species, better looking too. Maybe being designed to carry a child around for 9 months causes a more pragmatic frame of mind and leads to one being more results oriented. Personally, after reading his championship performance and his post here, I think Mcrae should shoot 200/200 all the time. He's shown he can do it, which means anything lower is really just dickin around. Nothing more logical than that. In fact, it may be that only other men would be romantic enough to dream up an excuse for him when he fails to do it.

Brad, Win/64 and Fred all make very valid points.

James... by all means, celebrate the accomplishments & milestones along the way.

And Brad, like one of my coaches used to remind us: "... winning isn't everything, but the beer sure tastes better when you do "

A satisfying 99, but otherwise not a perfect 100 straight, can sometimes bring interesting comments from those that have a higher opinion of your abilities that you do yourself !

When I shot my first 25 an old guy at the club helped put it in perspective. Take your score cards for the month and see just how many 25 straights you've already done. Getting them all on the same round is just a detail.

it only gets better, have missed my first and have run 99,have missed # 100,you will find this out as you go down the road,it is just plain fun,do you not agree.......shot a 199 outta 200 and there were 30+ 200's....just go have fun

Many many years ago I was at a trap shoot at the Hamilton Gun Club. I had just posted a lone 199x200. This guy who recognised me from my days as a teenager shooting skeet at the St.Catharines club comes over to talk to me. I had since moved away from St.Kitts and hadnt been at the club there for 2 or 3 years. Anyways he says" have you seen the scores?" I said" no, didnt look on the board yet." He says "some f'n redneck from North Bay posted a 199". I said" whats his name" He goes to the board, comes back, says" some a**hole named Frank Good". I stuck my hand out, said" Frank Good, pleased to meet you and thanks for the congratulations". He spun on his heels, left and has never spoken to me at a shoot since....LOL!! I love sore losers!! He had been an ardent skeet shooter when I was a kid, I think he ran out of friends in the skeet game so went to trap and found out he couldnt make any there either. May have been his attitude?f:P:

And oh yes, to the fellow who started the thread.....congratulations! It's a good feeling isnt it?
