Hey guys. I'm looking for a few things to start. I'd like a Lee turret here in canada, just wondering who might stock these? Cabelas doesn't list them on the canadian site.

Also, I'm looking for buckshot pellets. Anyone have a good source?

Last: I'm selling my .300 savage for now, but, in case I keep it, is it true that resizing .308 brass to .300 savage is a sinch? Someone said something about using a dye to resize the neck and them trim the case down to spec length for .300 and that's it? I guess I'd have to cast bullets though....

"...then trim the case..." Lot of trimming. 144 thou. .300 Savage brass isn't terribly hard to come by. Epp's, for one, lists it.
"...I'd have to cast bullets..." Not really. The Savage uses regular .308" bullets. Data isn't hard to find either. I have it, if you want it.
"...looking for buckshot..." Where you are matters. Shipping costs will hurt. However, Shooter's Choice, in Waterloo, Ont, lists Hornady buckshot at $29.95 per 5 lbs. Ask in your local gun shop.

Also, what would be the process in making a /308 brass fit to a .300 sav? Is there a special dye you'd put in the press that does it in one pull of the handle? As you can tell, I'm new.

Best to buy components locally. Shipping will negate any cost savings from places seen on-line.
Shipping rates are set by the carrier and are based on the weight, size of the package and distance. Powder and primers get Hazmat fees added too.
 
I have made a lot of .300 Savage brass from other longer cases with the same head diameter. .308, 6mm, .270. 30-06, etc. Take the decapping stem out of the fl die, lube the case, and size it. Cut, trim & chamfer. Replace the decapping stem, run the cases through the die again, and load. My .300 had excess headspace, so I was producing ammunition that fit correctly, easier than starting with factory brass.
You could also check Higginsons Powders in Hawkesbury ON for Lee and other reloading products.

Greg.....I'd do some reloading manual reading before going any further, don't spend any money until you have an idea of what you are about! You are green as grass, start slow and ask questions, most on here will answer questions including myself. Some reloading operations such as case reforming, may be done better/easier on a heavy duty single stage press. There's alot to this and I'd read, listen, and try and sit in on someone reloading before you throw away money....Ben

x2 listen to ben ,he knows what hes talkin about,i've done abit of reforming and it's for a single stage press alright and a heck of a nice trimer.
