Beginner Question on Restricted Rules

Hi

I took my RPAL some time ago, but never bought anything restricted so had a couple of easy questions for you guys:

1 - if I go between my home and the range with a pistol, I need to get a permission slip from the chief firearms officer for each trip. Is there something that enables me to have something for the same trip but that lasts longer?

2 - if I rent a locker at the range and leave my pistol there, what do you need to do to make that official with the chief firearms officer?

Did you pass the RPAL course to receive the RPAL licence classification?

Purchase a restricted firearm, and
Be a paid member of an authorized shooting club / range.
Shooting club/range will apply/submit a 'Long Term Authorization to Transport' on your behalf.
Once approved the 'Long Term Authorization to Transport' will be attached to your License.

If you are not a paid member of a shooting range you can apply directly to the CFO for an Authorization to Transport (ATT).

Edit:
Once a restricted purchase is initiated/completed the ATT is attached to an RPAL Licence, it's no longer a separate paper format.

Get a range membership. Call CFO for a long term authorization to transport. ( LTATT )
Also ask them about storing it at a range like let's say The Calgary Shooting Centre.
I'd call TCSS and ask how much a membership is that allows you to store it there though. It's pricey!

What you're referring to is the ATT (Authorization To Transport). As of September of last year, it is now a condition of your license and not a separate document you need to carry around.

Note that the CFO will issue you a new license with the conditions on them the first time you purchase a restricted firearm. The gun shop will not hand over the gun to you until you have your new license with the conditions on them.

I don't think this is allowed, the only legal place to store your firearms is your place of residence.

Perfect, thanks. I don't own a restricted firearm but was thinking about it and either of these options makes life less complicated.

False I called my CFO because I was going to store my firearms at another location than my residence. THE CFO told me I just had to call for a STATT and tell them I was storing it at that location. As long as they person held valid license for that class, a ATT and club membership. It was the same if stored at a business.
 
1- not required for each trip , now attached to your RPAL

2- remove this idea from your head, WE all are afraid of that possible future rule for the restricts, soooo delete delete delete ....
