If there's snow on the ground then you don't need a water source. But you do need deer tracks to find deer.

I've never given much thought to hunting Bel Air Provincial Forest due to its proximity to the beaches and the reservation. That and I thought that a good portion of it would be actively logged for the mill at Pine Falls.

That said I'm curious about how you will make out. Please keep us posted. I'm hearing predators are a problem everywhere in south eastern Manitoba and the Interlake. Maybe the provincial government needs to set bounties or raise the limits/not tie it to big game licenses.
