Belgian Revolver

Looking for help on this one as I have the opportunity to own it.

With the caliber being 11mm and the proof marks dating it pre 1893 it should be okay as an antique?

Just looking for confirmation here from the fellas that know and understand Belgian proofs and our Antique regulations.

Definitely an antique.

The crown over letter is the inspectors stamp - it can be any letter of the alphabet except i or q. The star over the letter denotes inspection after 1877. Prior to that year it was a large crown. The simplified cartouche ELG over star was in use between 1846 and 1892, when the crown on top was introduced to show conformity to newly-introduced German Proof Laws of 1891.

So this revolver is pre-1891, but post-1877.

Is that early enough for your needs?

Agreed, definitely antique.
Looks as if the ejector detent spring is still in place. Making a new ejector rod is straightforward.

Ejector rod is missing, but spring is there as you thought. ☺

Neat gun. Too bad about the ejector.

Same 11mm as the French 1873 I would guess.

Going through my cartridges and found that a 450 Eley (Adams) drops right in although looks short for the cylinder.
Don't have a 11mm French Ordnance around to try.

My French will take a 44 r/sp/mag case perfectly except for rim thickness.wont take a 450.
So I think 450 is right.can you slug the bore?

Couldn't find a pattern so this is what I came up with for the Ejector Rod.
Thinking the knob is a bit big, but it sure is comfortable.
I may half moon it or turn it down some. Still thinkin on it.
