One of the next steps in my Mauser rebuild is Bluing. I have decided I would like to try my hand at doing myself and am gathering information at the moment. My options given my budget are Herters Belgian, Mark Lee Express or traditional slow bluing. I am steering away from Belgian due to the Mercury content the express however seems like a reasonable option. Is there a big difference in durability between a slow blue and express? Any other pros and cons? Any other products I should be looking at?

I had a look online amosfella there seems to be some good info on making your own mixture. As this is my 1st go at slow bluing a was leaning towards an off the shelf product just to limit one more variable that could trip me up. It does seem tricky to source slow bluing solutions in Canada though and everything from the US seems to be restricted for shipping across the border.

Does anyone out there have a good source of bluing solutions in Canada? I have found PJ's out of Ontario but there Radocy solution does contain mercury and I'd rather not have that in my shop.
