Anyone here have a B&C Medalist? Are Harris Bipods fitting good on them? By looking at pictures, kinda look like pretty flat under this. B&C website just say that it can mount a bipod.

Thanks!

Heavy barrel “Varmint/Target/Tactical” replacement stock for the Savage Short Actions

( Fits two digit models such as Model 10, 11, 12 )

Bell and Carlson is pleased to announce that we have added a new “varmint/target/tactical” style stock to our “Medalist” line. The stock is designed as a “drop-in” for the heavy barrel Savage (short action). It has a vertical style grip and a fairly wide forend with dual front sling studs to allow for both bipod and sling attachment. This stock is idea for varmint, target or tactical applications !

The stock has no checkering and like all in the “Medalist” line, it has the integral aluminum bedding system that is computer designed and CNC machined out of aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum. The aluminum block extends through the forearm to add strength and stiffness and incorporates the attachment of the front sling swivel for additional security. An aluminum “tail piece” also extends from the bedding block through the grip area to add rigidity and to strengthen the stock. The stock is designed to be “free-floated” and it comes with a standard length of pull of 13 3/4”, Pachmayr Decellerator pad and is available in all the finishes that we currently offer, including our web and camouflage patterns.

I have both and I would look into getting a flat fore end adapter. Number 9 is the part number if I recall. However that being said I'm not using the adapter at this time. The bipod if not tighten down will pivot on the swivel. I'm hoping the adapter would help with the fit. Otherwise I love both the stock and the bipod.

Another question:

If I get the B&C Medalist and a Savage 12 or 10 with detachable box magazine, will it fit from the moment I install rifle in the stock, or is there some work and fitting to do? I am better to use one with detachable or internal magazine?

all in .223
The Savage 10 FCP-K & 12 VLP DBM have detachable box mag, the 12 BVSS & 12 FVSS have Internal box mag.

Only other option than what is at the top would be a Savage 12 LRVP that is single shot with a HS stock that I would keep like it is.

Thanks!!

All stocks nowadays have drop in inletting. So you could drop it in and start shooting.

But proper bedding will always improve the performance.

Just remember these stocks are only Blind Mag at this time so inletting for the bottom metal is necessary.

Let me know... Only a few left

So it mean that detachable box magazine become useless or do you keep the parts minus the floor plate of the mag?

And once I have the rifle, the B&C stock, how much could it cost in extra parts to build the rifle(minus the bedding)?

Thanks :)

From a material standpoint, typical carbide milling tools will eat through the fiberglass and alum just fine.

The cost is the time needed to get it all to fit properly.

Go slow and test often. The factory BM is not an exact fit to the bottom contour but pretty close. The key is making it feed right.

Enjoy...

The only company that might budge on inletting is Choate. I am working on that but no promises as these things move slower then glaciers.

My B&C supply has ended for now so what I have instock and coming is it.
