Bell&Carlson medalist stocks??

And the prices just went up again. I ordered my last 2 stocks which I received a week ago on Nov 23/11. Since I placed my order, the price of the stocks has gone up $10 each plus up another $10 for the webbing.
If I remember correctly, I paid like $210 each plus $20 for the webbing and then $87 to import the first stock, and $30ish to import the second one.
Thats about $290 US each.
I dont really know of any other comparible options for that price.

The new Medalists are not the same quality as those from a few years back. I had to return two of the newer B&C stocks. I won't go near them again.
Spend the extra money and go McMillan or HS so you don't have to start a new thread titled, "I bought a crappy Medalist, what are my options?".

I recently bought 2 BC A-5's. One LA (Green) and one SA (Tan). Henry Rempel bedded an F-Factory gun in one and it was great. They sure were heavier than I thought. The LA was going to go on a 300 Win but thinking that it should get an new tube in 338 something or another.
Like optics, you get what you pay for. Are there better? You bet.
Do you get what you pay for with B&C: absolutely. Great value for the price point.
HS: grand stuff and priced accordingly.
There is a company in Sherwood Park AB making pretty good stuff. Old age is stopping me from remembering the name. Have one on a Corlanes rifle. Really like it.

I got a B&C medalist recently for a rem 700. It was pretty nice if you don't mind needing to open up the in-letting around the floor plate so you can put your bottom metal in. It wasn't just a "slight" amount of material I had to remove either to get a proper fit. Overall I like the stock. I've never fondled a McMillan but for the extra hundred bucks I'd go that way next time.
They'd be $87 cheaper if B&C didn't surcharge to Canada.
