I just bought 2 of them from Stocky's. A S/A in Tan web for my 308 and a L/A in Green web for my 300 Win Mag.

But as mentioned earlier, they only ship in USA so I had them shipped to Washington and a friend brought them back and paid GST on them.

I was surprised how heavy they are. Which will be good in the planned use.

With the dollar at par, the $407 US price is reasonable.

Was your friend aware that he was violating US federal arms control law?
Were you aware that he was committing an offence that could result in fine, imprisonment, loss of his vehicle, ban from ever entering the US, if he is Canadian? If he is a US resident, getting kicked out with a warning wouldn't even be an option.
Let alone the loss of the stocks.
True friendship.

:D

and a friend brought them back

A friend eh. ;)

I've heard that one a few times before.:D

Do those have the "Smart Stock" accuracy system? Did you try it and does it work? It has very good reviews in "Rifle Accuracy Facts" by H.Vaughn he says that it's the only accurizing improvement that really works, even better than bedding the action.
It's this device that makes the Medalist stocks not exportable to Canada (that's what they told me). They can ship stocks without the device anywhere.

I do not advocate breaking the law in any way shape or form.

That said, I have crossed the border many times, I live about 20 miles from the border and go to Kalispell MT all the time. I look at some of the prices there and drool. I bought a Lilja barrel down there a few years back, pre all the new export rules, and the border guard thought I was joking... I claimed the barrel, and the guard just looked at me and said.."a gun barrel?" Me - "yes a rifle barrel" Her - "right...a gun barrel... right sir... have a nice day.."

It is amazing how many border guards have no idea of the law. Your "friend" is a lucky man to have not been detained and handed back to the US, since Canada signed up to enforce the US export laws a few years back.
