Belt-fed, semi-auto...soon? Ever?

That's sort of an ill-defined section of the firearms act. Disintegrating link is generally believed to be limited to 5 rounds. However, pre-1945 cloth belts are confirmed in law to have no capacity restrictions though.

The prohibition is against post-1945 belts. The ambiguity is whether this applies to disintegrating links. One link is a feeding device that holds one round, whereas non-disintegrating link belts are clearly a feeding device that holds more than 5 rounds.

My understanding is that the law has been interpreted by the powers that be to define a belt as linked rounds, but that there is no case law precedent for this.

Semi-auto Bren in 303....or a semi-auto Bren in 22! One gets you the closest to reality with feel of the classic cartridge, but in disappointing 5-round blasts. The other lets you 'pretend', while you hammer away with no-limit mags and for a fraction of the cost of 303.

Non-res Bren....dare to dream....sigh....
