Hey all,

I have a belt that I use for IPSC and it works great and when I use it for 3gun, I have to remove and re-add stuff all the time and I don't like this. I also don't need 7 pistol mag pouches on the belt. I was hoping to get a 2nd belt that I use only for shotgun, rifle, 3gun etc.

I have a Double tap belt and it is great but I have issues closing the clips on the Bladetech quick mounts as the belt is a touch too thick. Is there anything a tad thinner but still stiff and a good option? I was looking into Safariland also as they have quick detach also but I don't seem to be able to find anything in Canada and I have read they aren't too stiff.

What are some good options?

I like my CR Speed belt - sorry no other experience with other models.... so for what it's worth... the CR Speed belt is pretty good and does the job.

EDIT: In regards to the belt thickness, that could still be a problem with the CR Speed belt. With the Velcro strips on it, can make sliding mag holders and holsters on a little difficult, I personally like that as it prevents any slop and is nice and sturdy.

safariland is the best for 3 gun if you ask me. With their plates and quick detach mounting brackets, it makes it easy to:

1) reconfigure your belt based on the stage (high shotgun count for example)
2) strip off all your gear in between stages. Which is great on long hot days.

For the double tap, the blade tech tek loks close easily if it is flat. Take off outer, hold area you need fkat, pop on easily, put belt on.

It takes a bit longer, but they will never move because if it.

Do you need their belt to use the ELS system or can it be added to any belt? Will I have any problems attaching non Safariland pouches etc to the ELS? Thanks

Is there a source for these parts in Canada?

You'd just weave thru normal.pouuches to use on els belt. However to use els attachments on other belts you need to punch holes in specific locations.

Take a look at the system we sell from DAA. The backs of the hangers are very thin so they do not impede velcro closure. Also, they offer the alpha rail system which lets you remove and replace pouches in seconds.

Do other mag pouches work for the rail system or is it DAA only? I have a DAA holster but all ghost pouches.

I was reading this from your site under the description:

The Alpha Rail System is designed for use with all Double-Alpha magazine pouches and shotgun ammo holders. It can also be used with many other types of pouches and gear.

Are you sure it's DAA only? My google searching is not bringing anything up to see what others are saying

Yes DAA only. It uses the proprietary mount that is present on all their pouches.

Does it matter which side the loose end of your outer belt comes from ie left or right side, if you do a front close option? Should the loose end be on the holster side or it just doesn't matter?

Safariland has more than just the ELS system, they have regular belt loop accessories as well as a locking bracket similar to the tek-lok that use their regular type belts with no holes, I went with one of these safariland rigs for ipsc because the outer belt was one of the stiffer belts i could find.

I do right to left, hook side next to holster. This way I can position my holster before velcoring rest of the belt.
