Bench shooting Rests

Edgewood or Protektor bags are the best for work off the bench ,they must be filled with the heavy sand to be good. Front rest with owl ear on a Hart cast iron front rest...timeless ,rock solid, and adjustable

It sounds like you’re mostly tinkering with a bunch of hunting rifles and not necessarily looking for super precision work. Something like this setup would probably work for you. I’ve actually never used this front rest, but it seems pretty sturdy. It has a forend stop on the front to repeat your position and a lock close to the shooter that tightens it up after moving up or down. And then a rear bag that’ll help your rifle track as best you can. It’s not ideal, but it’ll probably be what you’re looking for.

If you’re looking for something to mount on one rifle than I’d add a picatinny rail on your forend and something like an atlas bipod. Add almost any rear bag and you’ll be able to shoot pretty good. IMG_8141.jpegIMG_8142.jpegIMG_8143.jpeg

Bipod and rear squishy bag is how I roll.

That said, if u wanna nevwr have a bipod attached to your forend, u can use a variety of front rests. I used to use a caldwell rock i think it was called.

Now i put an arca rail on every gun i own and mount an MDT bipod. Peanut in the back.

Or just use whatever Erik Cortina recommends.

I use a Bald Eagle rear bag for the most part with a front rest consisting of a Hart base and a Sinclair top.
I also use a Remple Bipod and Dima rear bag at times, but not too often.
These systems are only used to work up loads.
FOR ZEROING, I shoot the way I am going to use the rifle, usually off my back pack and offhand
