Hi all, I’m considering the Benelli 828U for upland hunting and would love some long‑term user feedback.

• How has it held up after years of use in the field? Any durability or mechanical issues to report?

• How does it handle long days on the uplands—felt recoil, weight fatigue, balance?

• Fit and adjustability—do the shim/drop adjustments make a big difference in comfort?

Any real‑world pros/cons would be very helpful—thanks!

I shot one at the world sporting clays in Guelph ontario. The design eats recoil.. not sure how , but it was like driving a sportscar compared to my pickup. My comparison was a 682 beretta. Have not owned one. or had long term experience with it.

possibly the worst o/u ever made many issues right out of the box
many better guns out there with proven track records
in the 5-7k
there are many shotgun sites with knowlegable shooters doing reviews

I shot one for three years. Was impressed how well it came up ,reliable shot it pretty well. Then the issues started trigger would be "fussy" sometimes thought it was climate but no that didn't matter. C;osing the action warranted a bit of care as it did not always fall into place. The kicker was when the forend split in pieces kinda pushed me away and it was shooting a trap load. Got the forearm repaired and the very knowledgeable gunsmith told me it was a poor design with the screws etc. So sold it ,was an early model so don't know if there have been production changes but felt it should have been better for the money.
