I am for the most part a O/U and SxS guy. I am thinking of getting a Benelli Semi for clays. What is the operating difference between a Super Sport. Cordoba, Montefeltro or the Super Black Eagle2 -- besides price -- do they have the same action or which model share a competition action?

Same inertia operation, bolt and return spring in stock. The super sport, cordoba and SBE have two piece receivers, steel upper/alloy lower. The montefeltro is one piece alloy. The SBE is 3.5 inch capable. I have owned most of them and they all shot reliably with target loads. The super sport and cordoba have ported barrels and raised ribs so maybe better for clays in that regard.

Previous post pretty well covers it.

Have shot a Super 90 and a SBE in clays and never a problem. Currently shooting a Supersport which is basically a shiny Córdoba. Great guns that run without a burb regardless of the weather. The Benelli is the go to gun for rainy days I'll leave the O/U in the case.

Found I needed some weight on the forend of the SS so replaced the mag tube cap with a Briley weight. Gun was almost to quick to swing.
