Hey everyone,

I just returned from a trip in the states about a week ago and during my stay, a friend of mine whom i was staying with showed me his collection of guns. I didn't get a chance to shoot any of them, but he had a Benelli M1 shotgun that caught my attention. He said it was one of the older ones that were imported by HK and it was supposedly better made than the newer ones (perhaps just some HK koolaid:p) It indeed had the "heckler & koch" markings by the side.

I was wondering what the status of this shotgun is in Canada, I looked over the prohib category on our list and it seemed to fit:(

And if it is possible to obtain, I'm curious on the average ball park price these go for in Canada. I'm obviously not going to find one new, but are they uncommon up here?

Thanks.

(BTW, this is my first post, i've pretty much just been lurking here for the past few months)

That would be a prohib (unless it's the sporting model) so you'd have no chance of importing it. There are a few here in Canada that are registered as restricted that must have slipped through the cracks though.

There's one for sale on Firearms Canada right now for around the $1500 mark but it doesn't say if it's non-restricted or a grandfathered prohib....

no the criminal code bans sporting modles to from what i read

also any ar 15 that isn't made by colt or army light should be legal... but they kinda took creative licance and said any ar 15 and whent further and said they gun that the ar 15 is a variant of whcih the model restricted by name by name is a variant of and is fully auto matic says right in the criminal code an M16 is restricted they're for why can't i have a full auto M16 when the law says it's restricted

Wow! What kind of stupidity is that, I can understand if it has something to do with the barrel length (well I still don't understand it put following the thinking behind the various classifications Canada has)...we need to get a conservative majority in there so we can start fixing there moronic laws....
