Benelli M2 20 Gauge Bolt Problem

I'd check the recoil spring. Remove the butt stock & remove the nut on the end of the recoil spring tube.(be careful removing the nut as the spring is under tension) The nut will be tight & may need some heat applied. Clean the spring & plunger & inner part of the tube. Lubricate the spring & plunger lightly. Reassemble these parts, I like to put a little dab of grease where the long strut off the bolt contacts the recoil spring plunger.

Hope this works for you.

Thanks for the advice. I just ordered a new recoil spring and we'll if it changes anything.
