I just purchased my first shotgun, a Benelli M2. I'm looking forward to customizing it, but I haven't seen too many people here with accessories on their M2, let alone seen too many M2 owners. I know I want to add a surefire forend, is there a mag tube extension available? What else can be done to this shotgun?

Thanks

-GG&G bolt release "M2/M4"
-Nordic over size cocking handle
-Benelli nova/M2 top rail
-Velcro side saddle
-Surefire forend
-tritium night sights for the ghost rings
-Urbino 12" LOP stock
-Mod the bolt to float a 7th round :)
-Mag ext are a no go :( as you can only have 5rds in the tube

How difficult is it to mod the bolt?

Well as your gun is a 3 inch magnum you can put a longer mag tube on. But a factory one is close to $140 in canada.
We manufactuer an oversized ambi safety for the M2 as well as our DSC side saddle, which is a good idea as your gun is inertia not a gas gun.
We will have our oversize charging handle for the M2 and M4 out soon.
We allso have CDM gear. Light mounts. You mag wish to rethink the surefire forend idea.

Eesh... floating shells is fun when you are blastin away, but I'd be hesitant to grind away on a $1200 gun. Cool to know it can be done, but not practical IMO, it's not like you'd ever carry with 1 in the chamber, 1 floating and 5 in the mag-tube.

I just filled in the notch with JBweld instead of grinding anything. Been working for years. Always float one when I'm hunting crows in the farmyard.

The factory mag extension (that they call a Plus 2 and is only 4" long) will let you hold only 5, 2 3/4 in the mag. Will only hold 4, 3". My gun is a SBE II and not an M2 though, so the mag tube on the gun MAY be a different length.

So, the gun comes with a magazine tube that gives it a maximum capacity of (5) 2 3/4" rounds +1 up the spout. This gives you (4) 3" shells in the mag. The gun was designed to chamber 2 3/4 OR 3" shells. Therefore couldn't you put a mag tube extension on that would allow you to hold (5) 3" shells thus giving you more than (5) 2 3/4" shells and still be 100% legal?

5 of the biggest shells the gun is manufactured to take is the legal limit. So 5, 3" shells. If you can fit 6 2 3/4 in that 3" gun, you are still OK.

That's why for a little more you get the SBE II and have it set up so it will only hold 5, 3.5" shells (the maximum legal limit).
