Benelli m2 owners chime in please

Hey guys and gals. Been saving up pennies for a left hand benelli m2, but before I do, I need some input on recoil.

Bit of a short story. 10 years ago a nasty concussion killed me for a couple minutes, now I can't handle huge recoil like I used too without getting a migraine.

Zo... How is the recoil with 3" waterfowl loads? And does anybody know if limbsaver makes a pad for the m2? Thanks guys!

P.s. currently using a canuck hunter with 3" mags. Worst kicking gun I've ever shot, about on par with a old single barrel.
 
Sorry, I dont have the M2, only the M4. I think the M2 is solely an inertial drive system. (So the harder the recoil the faster the action but I think that translate out to more on your shoulder. Plus it is a lighter shotgun which will mean more felt recoil. The M4 is a hybrid system and quite heavy, the combo of those two is a very soft shooting shotgun. Ill fire 25 slugs and it wont phase me in the slightest.
 
A have a LH Franchi Affinity, almost identical to the M2, made in the same factory. My other waterfowl gun is a Browning BPS, a considerably heavier shotgun. In my opinion, the felt recoil on the lighter Franchi is the same (or less) than my BPS, YMMV.
 
How about a Beretta A400? I have an Xplor Unico with the kick-off butt pad system, and it reduces recoil very well. And of course, being a Beretta, it is an extremely well put together gun.

Edit: Riiight, left hand. Not sure if they make it in left hand...
 
So you can get the M2 with the synthetic furniture and a Comfortech stock, which gives you a little more recoil absorption.

I've got an M1 with wood stock and stock honeycomb pad (and a 121 with Limbsaver pad) and it already soaks up alot of the recoil. I'd assume adding the Comfortech stock will help even more.
Putting 3" birdshot through mine feels the about the same as 2 3/4" slug.
 
I have an M2 for 3 gun. It is not a light kicker.....for waterfowl I use a Beretta 391 and Xtrema II, which are waay softer recoiling. I have no experience with the newer Berettas but want to think they are actual improvements, not that I will buy one as I don’t need.
 
I have a M2 and a M4 and the M2 with the inertia system kick a lot harder than the M4, the M4 is a pussycat recoil wise.

I like to have more payload in the 3" and a faster shot.

After owning 2 versamax that shot about a foot or more left no matter what I did, I'll never own another. I like the idea of the m2 and the way it feels handling it. My head just can't handle a hard recoiling gun anymore.

I know Berettas are built well they're just big and fat. Might have to handle one more.

Can you compare the m2 to any other gun?
 
M2's are simple, lightweight, rugged and very reliable but they do recoil more. Most gas guns are about a pound heavier and handle like clubs by comparison. I love mine for what it was designed for, hunting. If you are concerned about felt recoil, look at something else or shoot 1oz loads like I do when I am target shooting.
