I've decided that it's time to order myself a shotgun. I'm going with the Benelli M2 but before I place the order I'm hoping to have a few questions answered. Question #1, the gun comes with the choice of 26 and 28 inch barrels, what are the pros/cons of each. I will be using it for clays, ducks and deer...which leads me to question #2. How will the M2 handle 00 and 000buckshot? Thanks for info/advice you can offer.

I went with the sbe II in a 26inch. You will be happy with a benelli. After 24inches, the shot is coasting out of the barrel. The only thing a longer barrel changes is sight picture and balance. I have shot a lot of sporting clays with mine using cheap walmart and cantire ammo with no problems. I hunt a lot of raven on the farm with mine also and use old imperial 2shot 1 7/8oz 3inch lead ammo. Heavy duty ammo and have never had a problem. I have also shot coyote and wolves with mine using buckshot and it also works flawlessly.
You will be happy with a benelli, I know I wouldn`t bother with anything else.

The M2 is a great choice. Assuming that you've the 12ga in mind? Suggest you handle both bbl lengths and get a personal feel - 26in bbl would be an overall better compromise for the type of usage mentioned provided you are not hunting too dense bush for deer :). Frankly, I don't care much for semi auto shotguns but I really do like the Benellis and those inertia guns are very simple to maintain. Very well made and excellent performance as well.
