:shotgun: Darren at Saskatoon Gunworks has the Benelli M4 (14 inch) barrels, I had a chance to use one of these guns for an afternoon it was sweet!!!! I put through about 250 rounds of 00 buck and slugs, on zombie paper targets. The Benelli was so cool!!!!

Yeah they are cool...but $2k for a restricted shotgun...no thanks. I've had a few of the full size M4s and ultimately went back to a 14" 870. More versatile in my opinion.

yeah....the 14" M4 is a very cool tac shotgun. Here is my rendition with B&T rail, etc

Agreed.
I loved the concept and execution..but too many $ tied up in a 'range only' unit.
I have kept my non-restricted M4...still my all time favourite shotty.
I did, however, pick up one of the 14" Nova's with the collapsable stock...
Just to keep my 14" Fabarm from getting lonely!

I had the pleasure of using one of these 14" SuperNovas on the weekend and I gotta say, I'm seriously impressed.

Never missed a beat, ate everything and the overall design execution looks and feels amazing. For a lightweight shotgun, it doesn't appear to beat you up so much.

Effin' Italians, they sure know how to build guns. I think the price on these in Canada is quite reasonable too.

I rate it 7/10.

Only 7/10? It sounds like you liked it a lot. Was there anything that stopped you giving it an 8 or 9?

I am seriously considering one of these and wondered if you encountered any negatives.

Supernova 14 Telescopic Stock

It's a small pic, but at least you get an idea of what they look like.

Hey Guys,

I went out & got the supernova 14.5 inch barrrel with telescopic stock over the weekend. I took it to the range & put around 100 rounds of slugs along with my other supernova tactical with pistol grip 18.5 inch barrel.
I was really impressed with the outcome.

After the range, went home & tried to remove the trigger group, assuming, it would be the same as other supernova with the pistol grip where you would have to loosen up the stock by removing the recoil pad & loosening the screw. However, to my surprise, the set up was slightly different. I didn't want to force any of the screw, & contemplated between taking it to the gun store, or calling Benelli USA for suggestion. I phoned Customer Service explained the reason for my call & was told to remove the two pins above the trigger & the trigger group will come off easy. However, I replied that, this procedure applies to normal benelli shotguns & not to the ones with pistol grip. Anyway, they kept telling me that's the only way it's going to work. I thanked them & hang up. I am now planning to take it to the store & ask them to show me how to do it.

In the meantime, I was wondering if any of you owners of this shotgun have successfully removed the trigger group? Would sure appreciate your opinion on this matter.

I have attached pics of the shotguns for the purpose of clarity

I wouldn't say "negatives", rather cons.

I would have liked to see a beefier, simpler sight system on this type of shotgun. Maybe a quicker acquiring sight. It's kind of fragile. A thicker barrel for choke installation options, or at least a fixed MOD choke instead of CYL bore.

I got the impression all they did was cut barrels shorter and slapped together a gun with existing parts without too much thought into exactly who would buy such a gun and for what use.

I don't care for this type of collapsible stock on a shotgun. This gun would be better complemented with something like the Benelli M1 PG stock. Solid.

In general, I would have liked to see the gun designed more as a utilitarian type of shotgun than a beauty queen.

Being rather stern with firearm evaluations, I figure a 7 out of 10 was quite generous overall as you'd never get 10/10 out of me to begin with, but I did very much like the way this 14" SuperNova felt and performed. Balance and all.

Doesnt the instruction manual tell you how to do that? I have a Benelli, and the manual is very good, tells you how to completely disassemble the thing.

Hi Repro,The manual is very detailed & user friendly. When I first got the camo 14.5 inch with pistol grip, I followed the step by step process on the manual, but even with the two pins removed, couldn't remove the trigger group at all.

I googled & finally found on youtube a clip by Tommygunz which was amazingly very helpful not only for myself, but I am sure all other people in similar situations. My hats off to you Tommy Gunz.

If you haven't watched it please take time to watch it & you will see for youself that disassembling a Supernova with pistol grip differs from other supernova shotguns.

I hope this explains the situation I was trying to express.

Hey Repro77.

I reviewed the manual as per your advice, & you were absolutely right. It did mention in bold letters how to loosen the pistol grip for the ones that comes with a telescopic stock.

thank you for your advice & much appreciated.

Just welcomed a 14" supernova with collapsible pg stock into the fold :)
Took her out to the woods and am really impressed! Light, balanced design..a great alternative to the 14" Benelli M4 and non-restricted! Get one if u can, I have a feeling these will sell fast!
