Benelli M4 Super 90 question.
I want one of these and wholesale sports is getting one shipped in for me from another store. The guy there says it is a M4 but not super 90. he said that is what they used to call them and now it is just a benelli m-4. he said it is semi auto, 3", collapsible stock. Is this something different or the same gun? If it is different, how so?
Thanks for any input.

As far as I know, the M4 is, and has always been the M4 super 90. Mine is only marked as M4 below the ejection port, some are marked as "M4LE" (mainly the US models - as Limited Edition, with the tele-stock that didn't collapse fully).

So I wouldn't worry about it at all. Congrats on the new shotgun, the M4's are AWESOME :D

Thanks. I havent even ever shot one, but I have ogled and drooled over one long enough. Gotta have it now. Having our first kid in August and i know this gun will be the last one for some time.

any advise on what the lightest shells are that you can use and have it cycle properly?

Shot #7.5 2 3/4 with no issues through mine. Consensus on the net is anything over 2.5 dram is good to go.

Best part is it will cycle slugs, buck, bird in any order in the mag tube with no issues and adjusting nothing.

Best (combat) shotgun ever.

Mine shoots the light birdshot loads just fine, and all the way up to slugs :D

It likes to be run really wet though, lots of lube in the guide rails. You might find that if it short strokes the birdshot/training ammo too much, get a few boxes of normal 00 buckshot and run it through.

I think there is some confusion here. The Benneli Super 90 is the inertia operated action whereas the M-4 is a gas gun, therefore they are not the same firearm. To avoid disappointment make sure you know which one you want and which one you are getting.

There is no Benelli Super 90, there are only M1/M2/M3/M4 Super 90's.

Are you sure it's "Limited Edition" and not "Law Enforcement"?

Thats what I originally thought it was too, but its the one with the American flag engraved into the receiver, and the non-fully-collapsing stock. I think I saw it on the Benelli forums that it was called Limited Edition. the M1014 vs. the 11707 which is the normal model I think.

LE guys will just get the normal M4 super 90's with a full tube.

I'm looking to get the Benelli M4. Anyone know where i can get a good price on a model with the fully collapsible stock? I know Wolverine carries them, but is there a better price out there?

Once again, only interested in collapsible stock model.;)

I believe the "collapsable" stock is actually supposed to be referred to as an "adjustable" stock.... In order to get around the whole sporting use shotgun import laws in the us. ;-)

I just picked mine up for $2100 +tax with the adjustable stock. Seemed like a great price so decided to finally make the jump.
