Looking for some advice on a Benelli Montefeltro vs SBE II.
I'd prefer an SBE II in principle since i mainly want this gun for duck and geese - but from experience - the length of pull will drive me nuts over time if it's not short enough.
Usually with all my hunting garb on i have a length of pull near 13.5" which is comfortable in a shotgun for me.
I read briefly that the SBE II can have it's LOP shortened using a shorter recoil pad, but the montefeltro has a classic look to it - and with the flexibility of cutting down the wood stock to exactly what would fit - it seems like the safer option. (and 3 inch shells have done some good damage for me on duck and geese in the past - so i know i don't need to use 3.5 inch shells all the time.)
Anyone have experience cutting down the SBE II to lower the length of pull, or using a smaller pad on an SBE II that could push me into buying the SBE???
Thanks in advance,
Ted.
