Benelli MR-1 problem with new LAR15 magazines

I received 5 new LAR15 magazines. They are new, have orange plastic followers and angled bottoms.

They are shown on the left beside my older grey follower LAR15 maga.

The problem is the new mags stick badly in my Benelli MR-1. They latch but when I try to remove them they stick and are VERY, VERY hard to remove.

They work fine in my Norinco CQA.

The older grey follower mags work perfectly in both my MR-1 and CQA.

I am curious if anyone else has this issue. It's not a problem as I will run them exclusively in my CQA.

it's weird. i have those mags and they don't stick, but they sometimes fail to feed. i heard people having problems with their mr1 and pmags, but pmags are all i use in my mr1, cause they work flawlessly (sort of sticky, but not a problem for me).

differs from rifle to rifle it seems?

Thanks James, do you have FTFs with other mags in your MR-1 or just these orange follower mags? My grey follower LAR15s as well as my Norinco 5/30s work perfectly in my MR-1 and CQA.
 
I have two of the LAR15 mags with the orange follower and they both function flawlessly in my XCR. They insert and slide out buttery smooth. Possible problem with your MR1 magwell if they work perfectly in your QCA.
 
I ran into a guy at the range with the same problem. The mags would stick so tight in his ar that if they didn't have a big loop on the bottom, they would have been stuck for good! I can't remember if they were the same mags that you have. I handed him my grey mags and they worked perfectly. I bet the mags are just a little out of spec.
 
I had an MR1 that would not run LAR mags at all (orange follower). Would jam every 3 or 4 rounds like clockwork. P mags and the factory mag were no problem. Ultimately I sold it because of the jamming issue and it wouldn't group worth squat.
 
Looks like the orange mags have a heavier coating on them, that extra bit could make the difference. Also, the rivets on the spine of the mag stick out quite a bit from the surface of the spine. Could be causing it to catch inside the mag-well. As mentioned above, try filing some of the high spots down and see if it makes a difference, I know it will ruin the finish but they're mags, they'll take abuse through out their life anyway. Just be careful not to file them down too far or they may come apart. As a rule I try to stay away from painted finish mags and go for parkerized or anodized finishes. A bit more expensive but a better long-term investment.

I could agree with that except this problem seems almost exclusively to the MR1. The only problem I see is not having a pmag style in the composite for the LAR.
