Ok, fired mine today, after spending almost 1 hour to clean it from the factory grease/oil and lube it with GUNZILLA (the more i use that stuff, the more i like it) i have almost 300 round thrue it now, few box of federal match, norinco and winchester 55gr FMJ, it NEVER MISS ONE, i have tried factory benelli, and colt mag, thermold mag and p mag, mixed round in a LAR mag (1 win, 1 norinco, 1 federal up to the full 10) no hick-up, only the plastic mag are hard to pu IN or OUT, thermold are worst then P Mag.
Also, since the canadian version is 4in longer, i expect we will have better terminal ballistic then the 16in US version but it is only my personal thinking.
I have not done accuracy test as i have no optic to put on it for now, it's in order...
but 100 feet, peep sight, all are around 3in. the thin barrel heat up pretty fast but scoped rifle will tell me more if impact shift on heated barrel... and to me, this is NOT a battle rifle so i don't care.
I have 3 AR, (1 A2 fixed stock and 2 telescoping stock) and i find that this one is more natural to shoulder, i think that VERY LOW optic will be the way to go but the folk at benelli told me that the telescoping stock will be little higher than the fixed stock (about 1/2in they say)
To my finger, the trigger is a little more spongie then my ar or even my mini, don't get me wrong there, it is very clean trigger, no overtravel but to me, the mini and AR trigger broke more like a glass rod, but on the benelli, you can feel the sear spring before the hammer drop, it is very good anyway, my layman digital gauge give me a average of 5pound 4 oz for 5 trigger pull on the other hand, the recoil is less then the AR and even the mini, i don't know if it is because or the 2 thin rod that plunge downward in the stock instead of straight in the stock a la AR (or handguard for the mini) ?? but the rifle tend to lift less and kick less too, even if it is very light
Over all, i really like this rifle, specially the fact that i can carry it with me EVERYWHERE, i will use it more then my mini because of the 10 round mag factor and way much more then my AR because of the NON-RES factor too. i have a front tri-rail mount on it's way and the folk at Benelli told me that the telescoping stock should be available for seperate part around december.
i can't compare it against SIG, TAVOR, or XCR as i have not tried all thoses rifle yet but you can almost have 2 MR1 for the price of the SIG and TAVOR. I expect that thoses 3 last rifle are more for HEAVY DUTY, just like the AR, so more robust but, never in my life, i will have to empty few hundred round to protect my life so, it fit my need VERY WELL
If you have any question, feel free
