If you posted a picture of your own personal MR-1, I wouldn't go so far as to insult you whether I liked it or not.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Almost entirely polymer and ceramics, self-lubricating, completely ambidextrous, selective ejection port, reversible charging handle, folding/collapsible stock with an insanely quick barrel change system - the ARX160 weighs-in at a mere 6.6lbs. It's the first black rifle to actually get all of these features right. The ACR and SCAR came close, but it's unlikely we'll ever see the SCAR in Canada or that ACR will ever release the military version of the new ACR commercially.
There's a good assessment at the 3:20 mark regarding the aesthetics. Apparently people that have actually handled the rifle have been pretty blown away with it.

Nice. I noticed you removed the rear BUIS to make room for the optic; I was curious how you mounted the Magpul AFG to the handguard?

EDIT: I do remember seeing a short barrelled, restricted MR1 on Wolverine's website a few months ago. Its not there anymore, but did anyone here pick it up? It looked badass.

There's an optional tri-rail you can get (identical to the one for the CX4 Storm). I'm still curious how he mounted the AFG.
Actually, it wasn't that hard. The grip and rail are from Magpul (you probably knew that). I machined the rail to fit the contours of the handgard bottomside and simply used captive nuts (T-nuts) to hold it in place. It's a bit of fiddling to get the rail fitting perfectly but it's rock solid and looks vir
tually factory installed. The AFG makes a huge difference in that it allows you to really pull the rifle into your shoulder. It toyed with this idea for months and then just said WTF. It was worth the gamble. Next is a top rail for the hand guard (shortened CX4 top rail)

Fine bit of engineering. Well played. I like it, prob won't do it to mine... But it looks sweet.

That looks like a nice set-up. Maybe it's the angle of the photo but is the scope not a bit far back for the eye relief needed? With a 3-9 on mine the back of the scope comes to about the throat of the pistol grip. That looks like a quick release AR scope mount on backwards? Have you had any issues with ejecting brass with the release clips above the action? I tried doing that with a Burris P.E.P.R. mount reversed and had failure to eject issues with the brass hitting the nuts with them on the action side.

I see far to many posts of people not liking the look of these guns... I cannot imagin why. Everyone entitled to their own opinion I guess. I feel these are gorgeous right out of the box. If I were to get one i'd never dream of adding any AR stuff. JMHO.
Its the fixed stock I don't like, whereas the adjustable is ok.
And I find the barrel kinda long, although- is that the reason why its N/R?
But lets see, adjustable stock, and shorter barrel- well, thats an AR, which can be had for a few hundred bucks more than the price of the MR1.
To each their own, though, I'm not going to fight too hard against what is essentially an Itailian AR thats N/R.
