In my opinion, it's a better looking rifle without the pistol grip. The information on Cabela's website states it has a 16" barrel which would make it restricted. Let's hope that's a mis-print.

Looks like better cheek weld/eye relief too. Shame about the 16" barrel.

Oh interesting. No longer that weird canted downward stock as the first issue? I was thinking about this as my next non-restrict semi.

It's not cosmetic.

The drop on the regular stock is very steep, and I can't get a good cheek weld and still be at sights level. It feels very awkward. I had to put a cheek pad on the stock to even get close, and still it's not what I'd want.

I don't get what Benelli was doing with their original stock. I haven't one review that was positive about the stock, and many that were negative.

I also don't like the pistol grip, but that's a cosmetic issue I guess.

I phoned all three cabelas 2 weeks ago when they came up on the website "on sale" to boot
Nobody had one physically in stock. Nobody knew if they were in fact 16 or 20 inch barrels.
They said they had them in stock at their central warehouse, but who knows.

Have talked to both Ashley Ryan and Shane O'Connell from Stoeger Canada about the new MR1
"There is a new MR1 with a 20” barrel and comfortech stock available for this year. The item number is A0430600"

I have ordered 2 through my local dealer and word is late spring.....?

Does anyone out there know if anyone will be selling the comfortech stock itself? I would buy one in a heartbeat.
Or if it is interchangeable with say the supernova stock?

Anyway, if any dealers are reading this see what you can do for the many mr1 owners out the with ####ty stocks.

ditto!

Looks like Cabelas have them in stock according to there website. Does anyone know what the max magazine capacity is without being restricted ?

A firearm is either restricted or it isn't, nothing to do with the mag. Therefore, any "legal" mag can be used in said firearm e.g. "LAR-15 Pistol Magazine "
http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...49-Legalities-of-10-round-magazines-in-Rifles
can be used in AR's even though the law is that semi-automatics are limited to five rounds only. Yep, confusing.

In the case of this Benelli, PMAG's and LAR-15 mags can be used, and others too ;)

So with all that being said what's the max of rounds in a 223 magazine that can be used in the Benelli ? Is it only 5 ? and yes I'm green with this part of the forum...

Using LAR-15 pistol magazines (that do work in the MR1, as zxcvbn mentions above) you can have ten rounds. The ten-round LAR-15 magazines are legal for use in any firearm that can accept them.
