Benelli mr1 with Questar LAR 10 shot mag

My first MR-1 and the only one i have left is the author of the targets and had only one malfunction ( bad primer ) in 5K + shots, this rifle is simply accurate, reliable and good and at this point if the SHTF, it would be a toss between the Swiss and the MR-1... JP.

Are these new mags (recent purchase)? I have some I bought recently and the front edge seems to catch the case mouth. A quick file job (file down the front edge a little) seems to work quite well. Push down the follower, file the front edge a little and you should see the cases push out much more smoothly.
Very true. I just received 2... loaded 5 factory Hornady rounds and found 2 things. The inside edges were sharp and the front edge was square. When I pushed them by hand the inside edges literally grabbed the brass. As it slid forward it did score the brass significantly. When the round contacted the front inside edge of the mag it stopped dead. This would push the case mouth into the bullet and affect accuracy for sure. Under spring pressure the spring from the rifle would have definately damaged the case mouth. The problem was simply solved(not sure the customer should be the one doing it).
1. Took a piece of fine emery cloth and did the inside edge if the mag. Immediately could push the rounds forward with 1/3 the pressure.
2. Took a rotary tool with a fine carbide bit and bevelled the front inside edge ever so slightly and finished with the emery cloth.
The result was spectacular..smooth and flawless. Will get it out soon.
Really took me a couple of minutes per mag BUT I feel the factory should do this before the finish is put on the mag.
