Benelli MR1

Info on the MR1 in Canada.

Not sure if this is the right place, but does anyone know anything about these.
Will they be available in Canada?
Are they an AR variant, and restricted in Canada?

I've tried to research, but nobody has been helpful yet.
I've only seen them on the US Benelli website.

Takes AR-15 Magazines and is manufactured in semi auto only with no plans for a full auto version. Could be another black rifle option? It would be nice to have another black rifle to choose from. I'd like to know if anyone knows about availability.

it does look pretty slick for sure. Too bad it is restricted, 16 inch barrel.. and if it's restricted I'd stick with my AR

If I am not mistaken, this is the same gun as the Berretta RX4, it was taken over by Bennelli for some reason. I don't think it ever made it to market under Berretta before it was dropped. Now it looks like Bennelli will try again. Although I don't think the RX4 version took AR mags, I think they were proprietary. I could be mistaken about that though.

I've seen a version with a Benelli M4 style tele stock, looks pretty slick. Not so much with the pistol grip fixed stock, but not too bad.

With an 18.5" barrel it may be pretty cool for a NR gun.

the beretta was gonna have a 20 inch barrel for the canadian market before it got dropped.
it was non restricted. i hope wolverine is on this if so i would hit that so fast

It is almost the same as the RX4. The main market for the RX4 was the U.S. but Italian export regulations and U.S. import regulations made exporting the RX4 to the U.S. impossible. They must have made the required changes and I think the new gun is made in the U.S. to get around the import problems.

The original gun took AR magazines as well. It was designed that way from the start.

If it is based off of the R1 action I would be up for one non res. of course. I miss my R1....
