I'm looking for some advice, I'm really indecisive and I'm kinda tossed between the Nova H20 and the Supernova Tactical shotguns. For me to buy it locally here in Vancouver they're exactly the same cost. Is there any advantage to the supernova over the nova? Obviously one has an all weather finish, but does that outweigh the comfortec stock, ghost rings etc? Help me decide :)

i had a nova tac. then bought a super nova tac. gotta have that pistol grip and ghost rings, the finish on the super nova is very weather resistant and you have to go with and all black shottie

for what?
do you want to hunt with the thing or is this mall ninja gear?

until the zombies come, a pistol grip is useless on a shotgun and a hindrance to hunting.
theres also a Nova tactical (not SuperNova) with the ghost ring sights - i prefer the Nova ghost rings to the SuperNova ghost rings.

unless you intend to be leaving this thing in the mud or storing it away wet the H20 finish is kindof excessive. the Nova/Supernova itself is built to be a very weather-resistant gun to begin with, and as long as you just wipe down the barrel with an oily rag now and then there really isnt much left to rust unless you are jamming mud/snow into the action and leaving it there.

a piece of advice:
whatever Nova/SuperNova you buy, make sure you get the barrel you want. new barrels for these things are insanely expensive, it almost makes more sense just to buy another Nova rather than a new barrel... so make sure the one you get is suited for the hunting or mall-ninjaing you have in mind because unlike mossberg 500s/rem 870s you wont have 2-3 interchangeable barrels laying around.

You had better tell Mossberg that...

Beside which, lots of hunters including myself hunt with pistol grip shotguns and rifles, they work great.

Also read carefully...
One only looses an average of 6.5 feet per second for every 1" that is removed from a 30" barrel with 7.5 shot.
