My Benelli Nova is getting a lot of FTF..its getting jammed up on the lifter when the shell leaves the mag tube and before its in the chamber , Challenger target loads with blue shells don't work very well at all in it. The Federal target loads seem a little better. Who do people recommend as a good place to send it ?

Where exactly is it getting jammed?
Does it jam when you start the pump action forward, and then it stops?
Is the crimp of the shell getting hung up on the extractor cut on the barrel extension?
If you can, take a pic of the action with the jammed shell, and post it, next time it happens.

You are obviously telling lies here.

Everybody knows that Benellis and Glocks NEVER jam. LOL.

i hope it sarcasm because i only ever got one jam with my vinci in over 1500 round and that after a summer of clay shooting and a season of hunting .

Check if every thing is cleaned and lubed and if everything look good go to a gunsmith

Yes it was getting jammed on the forward stoke , I noticed the rims of the shells had small cuts .And I will try and get some pics next time.

The crimp end

Ah, so here is what I think is happening. The extractor rides over the extractor cut on the barrel extension. Over time it sharpens it, run your finger over it and you can probably feel a sharp edge. The shell, for whatever reason, get knocked to that side, and will get cut into by that sharp edge.

Take a small file and round the edge over, don't go to wild, and you can take some emery cloth and smooth it over after the file.

Some shell brands have better crimps, and are more tapered at the crimp end, so will feed better, that is why you might have intermittent problems with some brands over others. Give that a try, and see how you make out. I hope that solves it for you.

I give my Nova this treatment every 1000 rounds or so! My M2 gets the same treatment.

I took a few pics of my barrel where the extractor rides over it . It is sharp there ....I am unfamiliar with these and almost looks like a groove has worn into barrel to me . Does it normally look like that ? It feels like a small ridge has been formed on the barrel where the extractor rotates to the left . I bought the shotgun used off a friend of mine .

Thanks 7.62 that fixed it :dancingbanana: Two minutes with a file and a couple more with emery cloth . I just got back from the range and went through 3 boxes of cheap challenger and federal . I ran the shells through the gun fast and it cycled smooth as buttaa !
