Benelli Nova Issues

I had my nova pump that I bought from a member on here out on a goose hunt the other day and had nothing but problems with it. I've had the gun since october and the first time I went to shoot it I took it to a gun store and they said it hadn't been Put together right. I said fine and took it out on a hunt and it performed fine. I since cleaned it and fired it since the first hunt. Yesterday was a total different story, it wouldnt fire all morning, so I took it back to my truck and took it apart and then put it back together went out and it shot fine. Then that afternoon hunting it wouldn't fire at all. It seems an issue with the firing pin not hitting the primer properly. I've searched the interwebs and found many similar stories but no real fixes. Has anyone had these problems? And how do you fix it?? im ready to toss it out, nothing more frustrating than getting birds in close enough and just going "click"

I had the same problem.

My fix was to contact Benelli and they will send you a new firing pin spring, mine was free of charge. I cleaned the bolt and pin really well with solvent and hot water (used compressed air to dry) and put a very very light coating of rem oil to prevent rusting. I have never had an issue since but I do clean out the bolt assembly quite often.
 
Not the First time I have heard of this problem, 219F has the solution. Benelli has pretty reasonable customer service. Maybe take the gun down one more time so you can give the Benelli folks a description of what is wrong.
 
Hi, i have a Benelli Supernova, am very surprised that your having problems with your Nova,maybe you should go to a firearms store near you and ask the salesmen when he's gonna have a visit of a Benelli representative,tell your story to the guy i'm sure he is going to help you with no charge...(You can call Benelli only in U.S.A.) Good luck..
