I'm looking to get myself a shotgun here in the near future and am leaning towards a Benelli as I have a coworker that has one and loves it. I was just looking for opinions on getting either the Nova or Supernova. I understand the differences seem to only be the shell size and the comfort tech stock as well as I've heard the Supernova is built a little more stronger and has a larger trigger guard. I'm hoping to take up bird hunting this year as myself and a few buddies I shoot with have decided that to be our next adventure. I appreciate any and all opinions tho please.

Thanks!

The supernova comes with stock shims to adjust fit. The nova is one piece stock and reciever. Early models were reported to be prone to cracking at the grip. I havn't heard of any new cases in a long time. The only way I would choose a nova over the supernova is if I wanted it in 20ga. The supernova is only available in 12ga. Save up and get the supernova then you'll never be wondering if you made the wrong choice.

Hey, thanks for the response, I didnt hear about the cracking thing thats good to know. I want a 12 so the supernova fits well as well as the shims are a bonus. My coworker owns the Supernova and he says that if i wanna save money or dont plan on shooting geese too often to get the Nova but so far the supernova seems a better choice. Plus the price difference isnt too extreme.

The cracking was in the early models. There werent many of them that I heard about but enough to make it an issue. I doubt anything current would have that problem anymore. Like I said, unless you want it in 20ga or you're on a really tight budget and must have a Benelli. There really is no reason pick the nova over the super. Probablly the best pump I ever had. I got rid of mine because it was a little long for my frame and didn't fit me as well as other shotguns. I did find the 26" barrel to be a bit nicer over the 28" but good luck finding one. They are both extremely forward weighted i thought compared to some other brands due to the polymer stock and reciever being so light.

My uncle has the nova and I have a supernova and every time we go shooting I get to pull out the line... Yeah my shotgun is like yours... Just super . Are you prepared to have that said to you :p

In all honesty with heavy magnum loads or super mags the comfort tech is worth every penny.. They still suck to shoot (3 1/2 that is) but its much nicer. I've probably put 150 turkey loads through my supernova and never have had one hurt me like some of the 870s do.. Take it for what it's worth though

It does say SUPER! I'm 6'2 and a bit broader across the shoulders so the longer gun suits me fine. A buddy has a shorter shotgun (not sure what it is) and I cant stand shooting it feels like a toy in my hands lol. The budget isn't that big of an issue as I'm more then willing to wait a little longer to get the RIGHT gun for me.

AND NO I'm not prepared to hear how my shotgun is less super!

Thanks again guys!

Supernova over the nova. There really is a lot of bang for buck in the super. The Comfotech stock, I don't know what it does, but I have no problem spending an afternoon shooting clays and going through a case or more of shells.

Incidentally my first summer shooting clays I spent easily as much on ammunition and clays as I had spent on my Benelli, not too mention fuel and range fees. Something to think about.

Function-wise both shotguns are identical. Ergonomics, actuation, everything. Both are constructed with Benelli's over-mould skeletonized design. The Super has an enlarged trigger guard and an adjustable/replaceable stock. Everything else is the same except the price tag. You won't be disappointed with either.

I shot a Supernova for four eyears and just traded up for a Browning Maxus. It wasn't until tradin up that I realized how big and bulky the Supernova was. I'm 6'2, 215lbs and can handle a gun fine but there really is something to be said about a proper fitting shotgun. Comfort and fit aside the Supernova is totally reliable and well built for a cheap shotgun.

Super nova. I have one and I can shot it all day with the comfort tech stock. I personally don't like the trigger pull. It is very heavy.

Supernova great gun over all had mine for a few months and probably put close too 1500 rounds through it not a single jam....except for when my dad tried it out and short chucked it
