I picked up my new benelli nova pump last month and couldn't wail to get it to t e range. After half a box 2 3/4" I was ready to put er down...damn it kicks like mule. Does anyone know a good way to lighten the recoil.
 
the buttstock is hollow so you can put some weight in there to soak up some of the recoil or there is a recoil reducer that you can buy and bolt in (think you can find them on WSS website)
 
Shotgun recoil can have a lot to do with gun fit. My Nova fits me so I don't have a problem, unless I'm using Turkey loads :). Traded my 870 Express on it cause the 870 didn't fit me and actually gave me a bloody nose on the clays range.

Might want to try different guns to see what works and what doesn't. Then maybe look at trading for something that fits you better. Potentially a pain in the *ss I know but it is an option.

Alternatively, Benelli does sell a recoil reducer for the butt stock as mentioned above.
