Not sure which way to go benilli mr1 or vz58 what do you guys think can buy benelli for 1400 so it not much more than the vz 58 anyone who has benelli mr1 let me know what you think of it thanks for any input

I vote Vz58. You're gunnning for a .223 setup here?

I like mine a lot:

I know the MR-1 accepts STANAG magazines... so they'll take LAR-15 and Beowulf mags. Not sure about the Vz, there might be a mag well adapter?
And Benelli is Beretta.. so it's quality!

I have a mr1 and have used it at the tach range and hunting coyotes. It is a fast 100 yard gun. I put 1.5x6 scope on it. I like it more then an ar15. I have several other benellis. Several friends also have them.
You will not get a very good group at two hundred yds ,2 or 3 moa.

Both are good rifles that are similarly capable. You will find aftermarket accessories easier with the 58; the MR1 has a nicer quality finish, uses AR mags out of the box, and will readily accept an optic without requiring an aftermarket sight rail. If you're a lefty the 58 will be easier to operate because of the position of the safety. I have 2 MR1's so that should tell you my vote.

Not much help here but I've always wanted an mr1. I have an tavor, xcr, cz858 (7.63x39) but the mr1 is still on my list. They're big fail is they're stock set up. A lot of guys complain about cheeck/chin weld with optics. The rifle it self is rock solid and very accurate for a "black rifle ". For the price I'm suprised more guys dont have one.

Beneilli MR1 isn't $1400 anymore. More like $1800 + and now when the next shipment of them come in, were talking $2200 - $2600. If you can find one new now for $1400, grab it. Check WSS website. $1899.99.

Man those vz's sure are butt ugly! The MR1 onthe other hand is a nice looking, well made Italian beauty!!!

The VZ's are nice looking rifles in my opinion. Well in the stock form. All the modifications turns me off though. I much prefer the look of the fixed stock instead of the collapsible M4 stock the 556 version ships with.

As for the MR1, Beretta did a nice job of making it visually look good in my opinion. Some of the ergonomics are not up to par and have a little to be desired from them, but I do like the MR1 overall.
