Benelli QC and CS: Terrible experience

Hey everyone. Just wanted to share my experience with Benelli/Stoeger in Canada and warn people about the Service Dept Here in Canada.

Just purchased a brand new Benelli M2 tactical. The barrel ring is machined very poorly. Very disappointing QC from a $2000+ shotgun. Not sure how it even left the factory like this, but stuff happens i suppose.

Customer support doesnt think it is a problem and is giving me the runaround. This despite the fact the benelli warranty states:

10-year Limited Warranty: Your new Benelli firearm is warranted for 10 years from date of purchase against any defect in materials or workmanship in the metal parts of your product

I would personally say this constitutes a defect in workmanship, seeing as it is missing signicant amounts of metal that is present on other shotgun barrel rings. Im wondering if you guys agree?

A lot of people are under the impression Benelli QC and warranty is good, given its called "B.E.S.T". Let me serve as a warning. Stoeger does not care and will not offer replacement for pats like this.

Inspect your Benelli EXTREMELY thoroughly before you buy.

They will not warranty shoddy workmanship and QC it seems. What you buy is what you get.

This is the worst QC and customer service I have had from a gun company in a long time. Say what you will about turkish made shotguns, but I have never seen machining this bad on any gun ever. Italian manufacturing is certainly not what its cracked up to be.

If anyone has any recommendations for dealing/escalating with the service dept, i would appreciate it.

Italian Manufacturing ?

It should be close to perfect for that money. Having said that it isn't visible when assembled and will not affect function. You can let it bother you, or not and shoot and enjoy the heck out of it.
I suppose your right and it seems to be my only option.

Just wanted to warn everyone that the warranty and customer service is not at all what its cracked up to be. Specifically, they will not fix poor machining.

Hopefully i never have any other issues because dealing with them has been a major letdown.

It looks to me like they may have got the rust coating too thick there and ground some off for final fitting. Should have been recoated, but ultimately isn't the end of the world if they won't fix it. For easy aesthetics, get one of the Birchwood Casey (sp?) blueing markers and touch it up.

Try calling Stoegers parts department (maybe it is the same person?) - that is a real treat.

If I ever have a day where I am feeling too happy I might call the Stoeger parts person to take the edge off things.

Stoeger has the worst customer service in canada. If you bought it with Mastercard call them and report the issues to them. They seem to be able to get things done

I agree with you on both points.

I have two supposedly decent credit cards (one Visa and one Mastercard) and the Mastercard is hands down the best for issues.

That's trash, is the mag tube marked up because of it too?

Curious if it's post-2023 redesign or an older version.
Older tactical model. I bought it to pair with my non hk marked m1 (1/4 of the price used, no issues). Hadn't assembled it at all so no damage to the tube. I Noticed the marks on this one imediatly out of the box.

The other examples I received had reciever dents and a dent in the front sight marks. They still had the factory finish over them so i suspect it wasn't from transport damage.

Stoeger also said this was fine since a shotgun isnt for long range prescision.

Got visa unfortunately.

Luckily the place I bought it from is refunding it. Never shot it and im within the return window.

I think your onto something there. They must have used the improper tool since the interior side of the ring got cut too.

Stoeger parts is the one im dealing with. I also asked benelli USA and they told me it was fine and perfectly acceptable as well.

May call them again, but i havent been able to get through to them within my break time at work. I get put on hold for atleast 10 min, and i only get two 15 min breaks.

I wish you luck. Pretty much a last resort for me after several negative experiences.

Looked at a used 2025 production benelli m4 and the chrome plating on the bolt head was falling off... Could pick it off with a fingernail. Obviously passed on buying it, seller contacted stoeger and they confirmed it was a manufacturing defect and sent him a replacement.
