Hey CGN'ers, have a question. I am in an auction for a Benelli supernova. Has less than a box of shells through it, comes with 3 chokes and by the pictures looks to be in great shape. I have a standing bid of 520 and nobody has countered, which seems weird to me cause normally this auction site goes crazy. I've looked into the cost of one from cableas, which according to site is 799. is there something i am missing here? I am not super familiar with Benelli other than to know they are a good brand. Thank you in advance.

So far you are getting a great deal. I bought mine off this site for $600 camo version. I guess make sure it is a supernova and not just a Nova. Even $520 for a nova is a decent price. Just be prepared for the last minute bidders and don't get caught up in it. Hope you get it for that price.
Be very careful with the auction sites. Do not send your info to the seller until you can confirm them as legit. If you get an email from them check the headers on the email to see where it originated. After you get their name, find them on Canada411 and give them a call. There are a lot of scammers out there. If I was to take this shotgun in "trade" against a new purchase or buy it outright for resale (as a dealer) I would first look up the wholesale price (what I could buy a new one for from Stoeger who imports them).
I would then deduct 25% from that price.
Why?
Because no matter how "pristine" it is it is still "used", so for resale it better be a "bargain" compared to a brand new one.
Secondly, because Benelli will not warranty anyone but the "original" owner. So I would be selling a "hope it doesn't break real soon" gun or I as the seller (or the new owner) would have to eat the repair costs. There has to be a "discount" for taking that risk.
So if this is the synthetic/blued Super Nova, you are about 20 bucks shy of what I would buy it for.
Take that info for what it's worth.

I have a Brand New Benelli Supernova Matte Black that I am selling. The gun has never been fired and.in original box and packaging. It comes with the shim kit and 3 chokes. Im looking to get $700 because its new so I think youre getting a good deal, its always a chance that you re taking because you dont know what condition its really in until you get it also you have to be careful with these websites, not all are safe, lots of fraud going on these days.
