I just picked up one of these after much contemplation and I must say I am very impressed. I chose the wood version in 300 wm and it is a pleasure to shoot smooth and very manageable recoil. I got a few nice groups with the win xp3 150 gr bullets> The gun points beautifully and the action and ejection system is very strong. The question I have is I am new to the 300wm and not sure if for the purpose of deer hunting 250 yrds and under if I should go with the heavier bullets due to the fear of meat spoilage with the 150. The 150 seemed to group a little better and not so much bite but my main objective is to fill the freezer with good meat. Anyone think there will be significant difference in that respect? I have never owned a 300wm before and have little experience with the cal and the effects of the bullet weight?
